Cloth Diapering

the sad truth

Most of my diapers either don't work or don't fit insert frowny. I have 4 WAHM dipes from etsy that gap in the legs but are almost too small in the waist velcro. One of my swaddlebees worksawesome...the other one gaps in the legs. Sometimes the grovias work, sometimes not. SIGH. I dont wanna buy more nb diapers bc i know she wont be in them long. I've been using the sposies that I got at my shower whenever i wash my diapers. They were supposed to be saved for daycare. Sorry...just needed to vent!

  • I'm having the same type of problems. I think DD3 is just getting longer without gaining enough weight. My Kawaii PN, which fit perfectly when we came home from the hospital, now sometimes gap in the legs. My Alva NB still need to be twisted to make them fit, and even then I sometimes have leaks. I'm annoyed too, but I refuse to waste the money I spend on CDs so I'm using them.

  • I love my prefolds for the newborn stage. I haven't had a single problem yet they're just a little more work putting them on. Plus they're cheaper!! and the small newborn sizes are great for stuffing in pockets when LO grows out of them. Might be worth a shot to buy a dozen?

I've found even when they get older, prefolds and covers are super easy and almost never leak.

Same. So far I love my prefolds! We never have leaks! He's 5 months. I think a few fitteds would be nice to have, but unnecessary.

Lol. But I agree. If I could do it all over again I would just buy fitteds and wool...I'm in too deep now. Unless TJ wants to buy all my Best Bottoms...

It's so funny because when we started CD'ing I was like: "Well I'm ok with getting a few prefolds and fitteds, but I really don't think I'll like them as well as pockets or AIOs."  DH was completely against prefolds & fitteds.

Fast forward two months, I bought one fitted and a handful of prefolds as a last minute add-on to a diaper order I did.  Now they are my favorites and I wish I had bought all fitteds for daycare and a mix of mostly prefolds with a few AI2s and pockets for home.  Sigh.
