So I spoke to britax. And yes, there are longer straps available. I think she said 45inches. And they do send for free.

Another FYI I didn't know. The hugs rubber chest pads can be removed for rear facing seats. They are only required for forward facing seats. When you loosen the harness you need to clip the chest clip, hold the release button between the legs and pull up and down slowly. She said it is slow so you need to be patient. The chest clip should come out past the middle buckle between the legs. If you aren't doing this correct the longer strap won't matter. All of this I have been doing but she said it may be easier once the hugs pads are off. When it is forward facing the longer strap will be needed.
