I have had my 11-month old daughter in the Chicco Nextfit for about 3 days. I love it except for one thing... I continue to have difficulty in tightening the harness. Previously she was in the Chicco Keyfit, and I had no problem with that harness. I have heard that tightening tends to become easier with time. In the mean time, does anyone who has the Nextfit have any suggestions for me? I feel like I need to be a bodybuilder in order to tighten the harness sufficiently so that it passes the pinch test (no pinchable slack).
Re: Chicco Nextfit - Strap Issues
Some convertible harnesses take some getting used to after the easy harness adjusting of the Keyfit. I don't have the Nextfit, but we had this issue with our Peg Perego convertible and also with the Radian that we tried out in the store. Between angle of access with RF and the stiffness of the harness, it takes way more effort to get a good, tight fit. I even had a car seat tech take a look at our seat early on and she said it's fairly normal. It does get better after a few months.
