Who's LO has it how old and how did u know

Re: silent reflux

  • A lot of discomfort after eating
    Very wet sounding burps
Soinding very congested all the time
    Hiccups
Hates being flat on his back
Sounding and looking like he is spittingup, bit nnothing comes out.
Spit up occassionally, often out of his nose

We tried zantac with little effect. Now he is on prevecid which seems to be helping.

Unfortunately the bouncy seat is still the only place I can get him to sleep

My 2 month old daughter has it, and has since maybe 5 weeks old. Terrifying! She flails her arms and thrashes about, completely silent, unable to breathe. Once we pat her back and help her she finally lets out a cry and starts breathing again. Then she spits up tons of foamy bubbly thick saliva, no milk. Usually happens while lying down roughly an hour or so after eating, but just last week she did it while sitting up in my lap. Dr says her weekly episodes aren't often enough to jump to meds but its so scary and frustrating.
  • We actually just went to the children's hospital last night and found out our LO has this. She's been giving us signs for a little while now, choking sometimes when eating, making gurgling sounds after feeding, arching her back and crying when eating. She doesn't do this at every feeding, maybe half. She doesn't have a problem with vomiting or spitting up. I thought it was just gas because usually when we burp her during feedings, she'll calm down. However, her symptoms have been getting progressively worse the last few days. Yesterday she spent the majority of the afternoon and evening crying unconsolably, so our gut instinct told us to take her to the hospital. We got a prescription for Zantac. Hopefully it will give her some relief, poor thing :(
