Moving to Columbus

I'm moving to Columbus in the next few weeks with my husband and newborn. We've got our apartment selection narrowed down to 3 complexes: Bayside Commons/Countryview West, MetroWest and Wake Robin Apartments. Anybody here have any experience with those complexes or any suggestions on where to live? Thanks!

I just moved to the west side myself about 3 weeks ago so I'm still learning the ropes however I wouldn't suggest Metrowest at all. It doesn't look very safe and the outside is very very rundown. It's directly across the street from the casino so I also imagine traffic there never ends.

I don't know about the first two, but Wake Robin isn't in the best area of town.

Thank you both. We've decided none of those are good and are now looking around in Hilliard.

Hilliard is a better area.  A little crowded, but better than the west side.

About 7 years ago, I lived at the Heritage Green Apartments in Hilliard. They were affordable and it was a very nice community.

I live in hilliard and there are a lot of great areas. There are also some complexes that I wouldn't want to live in. Not sure your price range but make sure you check it out.

Preferred living and Edwards communities are nice. Just moved here too.

I like heritage green if you want hilliard. Or the farms on hayden run

So, where did you settle on?  Do you like it?  I hope so - we moved to Cbus (actually Delaware) 5 years ago from Louisville, and love it.

Thanks for all the responses. We've been here 2 months now and are still trying to settle in to our new lives. We chose to move into a townhouse at glenchester lakes in Galloway. We actually thought it was Hilliard at first. Now I'm just trying to find ways to get out of the house. I've never been a stay at home mom before and the housework is me nutty. Any suggestions on what to do?

It depends.  If you are looking for all day things to do, you could go north to the zoo and Zoombezi Bay. You could go west to Yellow Springs to Young's Dairy Farm. Google Ohio fairs and festivals - its that time of year, there is always something going on. Hilliard has a good farmers market too - find out what day that is.

Yes! Last year was the first time we went to Easton. I'm not sure it was worth the wait in line, but the kids enjoyed it. One of these days, I should update it.

Get a zoo membership, and if you can afford it, a COSI membership too.
