Can you relate!?

I'm a FTM due this Saturday the 18. I've had some of what you could call prelabor symtoms...the cramps, discharge and stuff.
I'm not complaining like oh I want to go into labor so bad and stuff did that in another thread haha I just don't see labor actually happening. Of course I want it to...I just can't picture it really being here.
Anyone who has had a baby before remember feeling this way? I'm surely be it is normal as a FTM.
I'm hoping for a "oh yes just when I could never picture labor ever happening it did!" Hahaha ;

I haven't had my baby yet, but I feel the same way. Not that I want labor to start NOW, just that I can't even picture it happening! When we took a tour of the hospital during birthing class I looked at the bed with all the contraptions and was like..... I seriously can't see myself ever laying there! I can't even imagine HOW I will go into labor. Just crazy....

I remember with my first I just couldn't imagine the labour and birth. I knew it would come but at the same time it felt so unreal. I didn't really have any pre labour symptoms with my first and I had no bad pregnancy symptoms. Right up until the contractions started it seemed unreal.

It completely felt unreal with DD. I couldn't imagine giving birth and the realness of holding a baby in my arms.

Once I hit hard core contractions, then the shiz got real

I fluctuate between picturing that it is going to be like the scene in Alien with the alien bursting through the guy's stomach, and then imagining this beautiful painless water birth where the baby pretty much floats out of my vag.   I think I have no idea what to expect!   Such an interesting position to be in.
