As an older FTM who was never really into kids or babies until the last couple years i have to say the very best thing in the world is having my sleepy baby snuggled on my chest with her little head on my shoulder and her arms around my neck. I love her "i only want my mommy" moments. Anyone else have a favorite tender moment with their little ones??
Re: Best thing in the world...
I am a first timer too, I too did not like kids very much, and shared the same feelings with my husband that we never wanted any (that was 4 years ago, lol). I took care of children almost all my childhood, sometimes I would watch my cousins 24 hours a day for a week straight while their mother partied and stuff...
Now that I have my own, I love the little things he is doing and starting to do. Before when a kid of any age had a snot bubble, I would freak out and practically wear a hazmat suit to wipe their nose... now I laugh and wipe it and call it cute. I love it when he is yawning and adds a growl at the end of the yawn... or like the last week or so... has been smiling.
Also, I know it sounds bad, but I like it when someone else is holding him and then I come in the room and start talking he cries until I hold him or get close to him. =P (He also does this with hubby sometimes, he feels special when it happens)
This is mine too. I love it.
