DD doesn't seem to get it, and she refuses to hold the handles. We've tried spouts, straws, and I think she gets the sprout kid, but only if I hold if for her. any tips or sippy cups that are recommended?
DS didn't quite "get it" either until one day I gave him his regular feeding in a sippy cup (prior to that it was just for fun). For some reason, when he "needed" to get it, he got it.
DS2 is the same way. He plays with it and I've tried with water in it, diluted juice and formula. When he's ready, he'll get it and I'm sure your DD will too. Just keep giving her a cup and let her figure it out when she wants to.

This exactly.
As for what I recommend. We use the Tomme Tippee sippy cups. He has been doing great with them.

This was DS. He took it at 10 months when it had formula. Prior to that, when I offered water, he had no interest. DD just shakes it and when she actually takes a sip, spits most of it back out. I'm not about to put breastmilk in it until I know it won't all get wasted.
