Baby Names

Don't really care about names

Anyone else just not so interested in names? There's nothing I particularly love, nothing that stands out or means anything to me, and most names I hear just kinda sound bad or "meh" to me. Maybe I'll just call this one "hey you"...

Re: Don't really care about names

  • I know what you mean, especially for boys.  Nothing just blows my hair back.  I'm kind of afraid to ever have another boy because it took so long to find one, I can't even think about doing it all over again!

Sorry I can't relate- thinking of baby names was always one of my fav parts of pregnancy!   Just keep trying out different names out loud or look through some family trees for inspiration maybe??   I always read the credits at the end of movies or shows to get some ideas too   Good luck

  • I think most of us are here because we feel quite the opposite.

I can relate to having a hard time finding the "right" name, but I love discussing names in general.

Yep, I know exactly what you mean. I had more fun the first time around, this time I hardly care. Short of picking something truly awful...it almost doesn't even matter. It's just a name. It's novel for the first couple times you introduce your kid, but by the time they're two and you're chasing and yelling after them all day it kinda becomes just a name lol.

  • I can't find any boy names I love so I'm letting DH pick if we have another son and I'll just veto the ones I hate.

You should spell it "Hay'U" and make it really "youneek".

I disagree! My DDs are almost 5 and almost 3 and I still adore their names! I get happy just thinking about them really.

My 2 girls, both born on a Friday the 13th, are exactly 2 years, 2 months, 2 hours and 2 minutes apart! And Baby Boy joined us October 11, 2013! image

Yup. I'm still completely in love with my daughters' names. The difficulty I'm having with number three is just picking a name I think can measure up!

Me too. Any time someone I know who is pregnant says they're totally lost for names and don't know what to do, I have to resist the urge to beg them to let me name their baby.

Now I'm really curious! Would you share your DDs' names?

  • We're having the same problem with DS2, we love DS1's name and had a girl name... but are at a loss for another boy name we agree on. The boy name I love DH is meh on and the boy name he likes I am against (alliteration and too many of that name when i grew up). He does not like Biblical names like Noah, Isaac, etc so I'm feeling stuck.
