    1.       Yay for Minnesota! I have never been to Minnesota, but we are planning a trip to the Mall of America this August, so now I am even more excited to go! The Mall of America was on my wife?s 30 things to do by 30 list, and she just turned 30 in March and her parents gave her the trip for her Bday. We are going for 4 days and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law are coming with us. I think it will be fun!

    2.       I am looking forward to going to Boston on Friday! That is where my family lives, and my youngest sister is going to her High School prom on Friday, so my wife and I are driving up to see her and take pics, etc. I think it will be fun. It?s been a couple of months since we have seen my family.

    3.       Today is day 3 of Femara for me. Yesterday afternoon I got a pretty awful headache around 2pm that lasted a few hours. We will see if I get it again today ? I hope not!

    4.       Other than being on the Femara, not too much else to report in terms of TTC stuff at the moment. I am really excited for my CD12 u/s next Monday. I think the time between now and then will fly by, especially with the trip to Boston this weekend. Before we know it we will be in the TWW again?

    5.       Last night, upon hearing the Minnesota news, my wife said ?let?s get married in every state where we can as it becomes legal, and try to hit all 50 in our lifetime? HA! I am not sure if she was serious. We are already married in NY (we live in PA). It is an interesting idea ? not sure I am down for that though?

    6.       2MamazinSeattle ? I am so sorry to hear that you have had another TTC set back. I applaud your positive attitude though. Best of luck with your surgery next week. I will be thinking of you.

    7.       So, even though I am still TTC, I really enjoy reading the weekly pregnancy check-in as well as the parenting check-in. I always like the QOTD for all of these check-ins, and sometimes I am tempted to chime in on the QOTD on a thread that I don?t belong to yet!

    8.       I am loving the Spring weather we have had recently, but my allergies are not loving it. I am feeling pretty stuffy and my nose has been itchy, etc. I don?t want to take anything for it, so I am just trying to ignore it at this point. I will be happy when there is less pollen around!

    9.       So this past weekend, I told myself that I was going to upload a photo and make a little signature for this site so that I didn?t still have that generic changing cartoon pic next to my name? I thought it would make me feel more like a part of the community on this board. Unfortunately, I forgot to do it. BUT, I am saying this now to force myself to do it this week!

    10.   I am a little nervous about the Ovidrel shot that I will be taking for the first time next week? I hate needles. I have heard that needle is really small, but it still makes me nervous. I am hoping my wife will agree to give me the shot so I don?t have to worry about psyching myself out trying to give it to myself?

Transfer of 2 Grade A blastocysts on 9/15/13, and 10 embryos in the freezer!      *****BFP on 9/25/13 - betas: @10dp5dt = 232; @12dp5dt = 465; @15dp5dt = 1,581   *********William George born June 4, 2014*********

  • 1. I am exhausted.  I hurt my back helping a friend move and they put me on some steroids and a muscle relaxer b/c I couldn't move, sleep, or do anything.  The muscle relaxers are kicking my butt and all I want to do is curl up and sleep, but I am stuck at work looking at spreadsheets!!

    2. I hit a curb last week and totally screwed up the front end of my car.  I was distracted and nervous (on my way to my 2nd US) and BAMM right up on the curb! Now my 10 and 2 are more like 7 and 12. Taking the car into the shop today and really hoping it won't cost me my first born LOL!

     3. I start the progesterone on Thursday. I really hope this whole thing works out this month! Apparently my lesson this year is going to be patience.

    4. I lost 15 lbs on WW and have managed to keep it off for 2 months now. My inner fat-girl has made an appearance a couple of times this past week.  I decided not to fight her, but embrace her! So I had funfetti cupcakes with cream cheese icing this weekend. Good God those are delicious!

5.I am craving bacon.  Over-cooked, mostly burnt bacon.  I do not know why, but suddenly feel the need for it!

    6.  One of the hardest things about TTC and working in a high school is that I am in a stable relationship, we both have great jobs, and there is a fantastic support system, however I keep running into issues.  Meanwhile, teenage girls look at their boyfriends and end up knocked up! Augh! frustrating!!!!!

    7. I have 3 dogs (Maddox-Boxer/8 yrs, Capone-Pit/5 yrs, Lucy-Pit/1 yr), 2 cats (Atticus-2 yrs and Finch-3 yrs), and a snake (Calliope-20 months) at home. I love my fur/scale-children. I worry about them feeling neglected with a new baby. All of them have been around kids, handled by kids, etc so I am not worried about that...just lack of time with them

    8. I would love to be out on our boat right now.  The weather is beautiful here in Florida! Unfortunately the wife and I have to work so the boat will be put off until some other time. Can't go this weekend b/c we are dress shopping for my mother-in-law's wedding! Then we have a softball game on Sunday (I know, how very lesbian of us JK)

    9. B/c the school year is winding down, we are waiting to hear what our positions will be next year.  Our district is in severe financial crisis so no one knows what is going on.  They are not telling us anything until May 31st and, as I have previously stated, I am not very patient. I know I have a job, but whether it is back in the classroom or staying out in administration I have yet to hear!!

    10. I enjoy reading everyone else's TTT. Helps distract from the waiting game!

  • 1. YAY for Minnesota and I'm happy for all of you who live there and can get married! Congrats. Last night, J was telling me how some of her customers asked if she feels different and she said she feels like it is totally different now for her, and how important it is that we are recognized. It was sweet, but amazing (and reflective for me) on how a very personal thing has been so totally politicized.

    2. Shout out to all of you who've sent your empathy my way on our TTC setback. I appreciate the support! People IRL don't get it - they're like "oh well, it's just a month or 6 weeks or what'evs..." Yea. What'evs yourself people! :P

    3. While my surgery is small (removal of adhesion in my uterus), I've been having anxiety dreams! They usually manifest as some sort of airplane accident or crash, or people facing death and I can see them but I can't help them. Awesome. I think it's just the feeling of this whole TTC/IF thing is just feeling big right now...I'm fighting feeling hopeless though.

    4. We saw Michael Pollan speak last night! It was fun and interesting, I've read his books (though not the latest, yet - it's about cooking at home and many aspects of it). He read a funny passage about a night they did an experiment eating microwave meals - how it cost more and took longer, and removed the 'family meal' aspects of communing over food.

    5. Re#4, we are aiming to do something *out of the house* once a week on a weekday (one of our 'pass the time until the FET' measures). Last week we went to a "secret show" thing where you show up and you don't know what bands will play. It was really fun and a *totally* eclectic crowd. Monday, we are seeing a film in the Seattle International Film Festival about the band, The National. We love them, and we love documentaries, so perfect fit.

    6. J and I love indie rock, she even called it out in our wedding ceremony! That the thing that drew her to me was my list of music on my Myspace (!!haha...Myspace!), and we both loved Arcade Fire at the time. The first romantic text she sent me was "I'll build a tunnel from my window to yours." (Do you know the song?) When I was pregnant I stopped listening to music. She promised to help me not let that happen again.

    7. I have very successfully been cooking at home ever since we got home from our honeymoon! For Mother's day my mom, 3 sisters + 2 boyfriends came for lunch. I made a "BLT Salad" with organic local bacon, tomatoes, raw corn, avocado, citrus dressing, and served it on greens. My one sister brought fruit and a quinoa salad, and the other made a fresh strawberry rhubarb pie.

    8. We got a new chicken a week or so ago, and yesterday she flew the coop when I tried to get her in because it was about to down pour. I got soaked trying to catch her, gave up, and she basically just came back home after it rained. Sigh. Never try to catch a chicken, duh.

    9. My company has a whole free transportation program that busses people from Seattle to the eastside for work. I'm on my 'shortbus' now - we get wifi, so you know, you can always, always be working. But I'm doing this instead. ha!

    10. Today is my dad's birthday. He didn't (wouldn't) come to our wedding, but I forgave him long before our wedding day. He's religious, and stubborn, and it's just who he is. So I will Skype him later today.

    1. Yay Minnesota!

    2. I'm seething at McCain and Graham. Seething. (I posted about it and asked for a favor from you all.)

    3. I'm ECSTATIC for ball.and.chain and tater. Seriously.

    4. I wish I didn't have sciatica pain. This pregnancy is kind of kicking my butt. It's better than my pregnancy with J in some ways; I had a large SCH and it was 50/50 for a long time, so it was stressful the first time around. Still, this pain ain't no joke. I'll take it over the SCH stress, though. Times 100.

    5. Our house is painted, and it looks awesome! It's finally turning into our place.

    6. We finally bought a bed. Funny story - we chose it months and months ago; it's an IKEA bed that is perfect for our bedroom because we don't have enough space, as it's configured, for bedside tables. The sides pull out, and you can push them back in when you're done, and there's also space in the back for a lamp or other stuff. Super neat. Anyway, we finally decided we were ready to buy it (immigration stuff under #7) and headed to IKEA, only to find out from one of the salespeople it has been discontinued. Cue panic and walking around in a daze trying to find something else that would work. Nothing came close. I decided to joke around with another salesperson, as we were asking a question about another bed, and ask whether there was anyone in Sweden I could bribe to get the bed we wanted. She stopped for a moment and said, "Wait, I think we have one left over in stock that's been here forever... Let me see. Well, we do, but it's a full in birch." Turns out that's EXACTLY what we wanted. Meant to be!

    7. I got word last Wednesday that my temporary work visa has been extended for another year and a bit. We don't have to worry about leaving the country in September with a one-month old! RELIEF.

    8. Number 7 made us buy the bed, finally. Not that it stopped us from buying a house, but I never said we make sense ALL the time.

    9. I think I'll have Indian food for lunch. Yeah, lamb curry. Yum.

    10. Here's a picture of the bed!

Tdmklm - I am so happy to hear your visa was extended.  I know this was a huge stress point for you!

    1.  Week two of paleo and M is down 10lbs and I am down 4.

    2.  Interviewing for jobs sucks!  I have a final interview today for a division management job, another second interview on Friday for a tech company and one next Wednesday for another tech company. I am really hoping today goes well and an offer comes through so I don't have to go through the other ones.

    3.  With these interviews I feel completely not motivated at my current job and that is really bad.  None of these are guarantees and to make up for this lost time will kill me.

    4.  We are going this weekend to get convertible car seats.  It has officially gotten too hot for Jacob to in the bucket.

    5.  I am slowly building a business wardrobe as I cannot fit in my old one anymore.

    6.  I have been dealing with head aches from lack of caffeine and sugar.  I am hoping they stop soon.

    7.  I went shopping last night for a pair of red high heels and do you know how incredibly hard they are to find!

    8.  On #2 I should say I am very thankful to have the opportunities to interview that I do I just hate the process of selling myself over and over.

    9.  What is wrong with cartoons today?  What happened to the ones we grew up on (especially the Saturday am ones?)

    10.  I really want everything I cannot have today.   A slice of bread would be amazing, mac and cheese, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes etc.  Thank goodness none of that is in the house.

  • 1. So excited for ball.and.chain and tater. And for tdmklm's visa extension.

    2. Also so excited for Minnesota! (And looking forward to the SCOTUS ruling next month.)

    3. I need to spend more time organizing and less time online looking at cloth diapers. The Great Cloth Diaper Hunt isn't helping.

    4. We're booked every weekend through June, and most likely beyond. That's going to make the time until baby go even faster.

    5. We're (hopefully) going to visit family for Memorial Day, friends are visiting us the next weekend, and my dad's visiting for Father's Day. Lots of travel and guests!

    6.  A family member is in crisis right now and I've spent hours on the phone with her and other family members over the past five days trying to be a support and make a plan. It been a drain emotionally, mentally and time-wise, but hopefully things will settle down soon.

    7. I overlooked sending something in to the state for my business and now I have to pay an extra $140. This was the first year that I needed to do it and I'm blaming that and pregnancy brain. Hopefully next year will be easier to make sure it happens, even though we'll have a 6 month old.

    8. We paid off our furnace this month and can now start looking at washers and dryers (then after that only our dishwasher will be old). Ah, being a homeowner.

    9. Thursday we're going to a queer legal clinic to get more info on options and advice about giving C medical power of attorney for the baby until our second-parent adoption, or equivalent, is finalized (even though we're legally married and she'll be on the birth certificate, I want be extra re-assured that she'll have legal power should something happen).

    10. Off to speed clean the living room and then get to work on an article that's due today.

  • Hey everyone!

    1. 2Mamaz, I just saw the news about your delay and that sucks. I'm so sorry that you have to wait and I hope you and your wife continue to fill your time with fun things!

    2. ball.and.chain, I'm so excited for you and S and your Tater! Beta #2 at over 700 is awesome!

    3. I'm getting too big for my pants but still trying to hid it at work. K ordered fancy baby cupcakes for us to give at work on Friday and announce! I'll be 12 weeks by then. I'll PIP the cupcakes that day. I'm super nervous but I can't hide my bump much longer. It's kind of ridiculous.

    4.  I'm so happy for all those in MN. My BFF of many years lives there with her partner, but we no longer talk because we had a falling out. It is really sad because I want to share the excitement with her as she just got engaged, and she doesn't even know about my pregnancy. Our falling out had to do with her not being supportive of my relationship, even though she is gay and advocates that anyone can love whomever, she doesn't approve of my wife. I don't need her negativity when we are bringing a child into the world. So I just wish her the best and carry on with my life.

    5. My wife has been making me breakfast and lunch before she goes to the gym, and makes sure I get my daily protein! I used to go to spin at gym with her, now I sleep in and she leaves me breakfast and lunch. Too bad I usually finish it before 11am, like today...

    6. I have to go to an all company meeting in a minute. Blah.

    7. I'm doing acqua zumba with the old ladies at night at the gym, since I can't do morning spin. On the opposite side of the pool is mommy baby swim class. Can't wait till I can be on that side!

    8. I'm still riding my Vespa and hope to until I feel to heavy, like I might tip over.

    9. We've been seeing a lot of live music lately and it definitely does me good.

    10. I can't wait for memorial day, I keep thinking it is this weekend but it is not!

  • 1. First I want to say Happy Mother's day to all of the current mothers and the mothers that are mommies in their heart but still waiting for their child to complete them.

    2. I had a very busy, emotional and exhausting mother's day.  My facebook was filled with wishes to all of the mothers and I broke down in tears.  I am so ready to be a mom and have a family and its been a struggle.

    3. I also am currently struggling with the relationship with my own mother.  So it was hard to want to embrace and celebrate mother's day.

    4. Lucky (or not) I had to work on Sunday.  I am working part time at a restaurant and we were slammed!!  It kept my mind off things for most of the day.

    5. We have our first home visit tomorrow from the social worker from the foster agency.  Needless to say I am a little nervous.

    6. My DW and I spent the evening cleaning and even gave the dogs a bath preparing for our visit tomorrow.

    7. I found out the other day that a dear friend of mine is going to be in Ohio in late July.  I am so excited to see her!  It has been 5 years since I saw her and I will finally get to meet her little adorable girl.

    8. We went to a 1 years old birthday party for twins on Saturday.  I actually met their moms on here :-)  They are so adorable and sweet.  My DW and I decided to go to the party as twins and dressed alike.  We are super dorks!  haha

9.I feel like I have been MIA a little bit lately, but its nice to see new names and 'meeting' new people

    10. Since giving both of our dogs baths tonight they can't stop humping eachother, its hilarious!!

  • 1. I love rhubarb season.

    2. I took a 45-minute walk with my friend's dog today and I am exhausted.  It's the most exercise I've had in a long time due to an injury and a very long cold.

  • 1. I used to be so good about doing my TTT on Tuesdays. At least I read them on Tuesday this week even if I'm filling it out on Wednesday.

    2. I'm glad the weather has decided to be warm and sunny again. We had a nasty Sunday and Monday. It actually sleeted and snowed on Sunday!

    3. One month from today M and I have our Love Party!! (And one month from today MK have their wedding)

     4. I need a part time job this summer.

    5. My friend mentioned that his office (where I've worked before on part-time contract) might have an availability, but now I'm just waiting to hear back from him about it.

    6. I might be able to have my laparoscopic surgery to remove my fallopian tube on June 3 instead of June 28. I will hopefully find out tomorrow when we meet with the RE.

    7. It is nice not to have the stress of actively TTC right now, but I want our baby so I don't really like that we aren't actively trying (even though I know that we can't until we get this stuff with my tube sorted out and I know that it makes sense to have a break this month anyway because of the Love Party).

    8. I should be working right now.

    9. Tonight is my first baseball game of the season. I'm excited and nervous.

    10. I can't beat my level in Candy Crush and it's not a particularly fun level so it sucks to be stuck on it.

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255

  • I am glad that someone else's dogs do that too. Everytime they have a bath they go crazy. The only other time it happens is when we vacuum. My 3 yo pit starts to hump my 8 yo boxer everytime we turn the vacuum cleaner, it is so odd!

  • That is funny!  One of our dogs is afraid of the vacuum, so he hides every time we turn it on.  That would be hilarious for them to hump every time we turn it on!!

    Too funny!

Our dog runs and hides under the bed as soon as she even sees the vacuum -- she is that scared of it. If we put the vacuum next to the front door, she won't even go outside until we move it. It is like she thinks it is going to attack her or something. She is not like that with any other appliance -- just the vacuum.

Glad to know that other dogs have similar neuroses HAHA!

    1.  I'm interviewing this week for our summer student positions and I hate having to choose!   We have 5 positions and 7 candidates for them, but because of funding requirements I actually have 3 people competing for 1 position.  I hate choosing!

    2.  I have to make a values-judgement on the above.  Should I focus on potential capacity building with a newer, younger student who may be around for awhile but will take more work to train -- or should I hire a student who is graduating soon and has already worked for us. Questions!

    3.   I have been neglecting both Candy Crush and my nutrition today.  Bah!  Hungry!

    4.  I am hoping we can get H's surgery out of the way June 3....  it would be really nice to get back on the TTC wagon in July.

    5.  The thought of delays to our TTC process makes me sad, even though they're unavoidable.

    6.  I've come "out" about my IF at work pretty much.  It's been decent lately.

    7.  We have a friend who is TTC as well and chose not to attend the local Queer Family-Planning Course... but clearly would benefit from the information in it (based on both her questions and very wrong assumptions) -- it drives me a little bit nuts because she also questions the decisions we've made BASED on the provided info in the course!

    8.  (regarding above).... and then she acts all surprised when she finds that information out for herself from another source!  Because she certainly didn't hear/believe me the first time I explained it to her as something to think about!    Am clearly a bit frustrated about this one.

    9.  One month to our LOVE PARTY!  Holy ***!

    10.  My office at work is a disaster area.  I have remedied this by bringing in a table from our boardroom and using it to hold my piles of unfiled/unorganized stuff :)

I sooooo understand where you two are at right now. It is hard and sad to feel forced to wait, put your body(ies) through more surgery, and still not know if you will get pregnant when you do get back to TTC. I am hoping we are cycle buddies and can both be on track in July!!

    On this....
