Cooking with healthy fats

Im trying to get my lo to gain more weight. Does anyone add or cook with coconut or olive oil for their LO food? If so how much is normal per day for a toddler?  I don't want to go overboard.

  • Olive oil is a healthy fat so I don't see any problem with how much you use healthwise.  It's like asking "how much avocado/nuts/nut butter is too much?"

  • My husband is Portuguese and literally pours olive oil on everything once it's on his plate! I always use it in cooking. I bought some coconut oil but I honestly don't know what to do with it. Is it just for baking? It smells really coconutty I can't imagine it in anything but sweets or curries?

  • Btw cconut oil is very good in mashed sweet potatoes with cinnamon and nutmeg and a bit of milk. That with graham crackers are yummy.
