WTF appointment today

We just had our post-BFN appointment with the RE.  She was very kind and honest that she was disappointed in the number of mature eggs we got from the donor.  We have 2 frozen embryos waiting - both 4BB.  We could do FET for my next cycle; however, she would prefer that I bring down my BMI.  While I am within the clinic's "acceptable" range - "we want to do everything possible to improve the chances."  This is a hard message to hear but DH is being very supportive & we are going to do it!  She also said they would "scholarship" our FET since the donor results were so poor.  That was great news!

So hopefully we will start the FET cycle in Aug/Sept after I lose a bunch of weight.  Wish me luck!!  I am SO NERVOUS - I have always struggled with weight.

Me:37 (DOR), DH: 40 (Normal) TTC #1 since Fall 2010
2010-2012 - 7 rounds of Clomid, 4 IUI & 2 IVF - all BFN (2 chemical pregnancies)
April 2013 fresh DEgg - 15R, 4F, 2 transferred = BFN.
FET - 11/13
Beta #1 11/23 = 247; Beta #2 11/25 = 538; Beta #3 11/29 = 5481 BFP!!!!!
U/s #1 12/7 & U/s #2 12/16 = One perfect little heart beat!!
EDD = 8/1/14

  • I too am on the edge BMI of healthy, and am using the time between our loss and our FET to drop some lbs. Awesome they are taking responsibility for your donor response. Of course, our donor put out 21 eggs, 14 mature, 11 fert and we ended up with 4 good embryos - you just never know! I'm glad you have 2 frozen though.

    How are you planning to go about losing weight? How much do you want to lose before your FET?

    Maybe we can get a little side thing going for us trying to lose the lbs. before moving forward. I use www.myfitnesspal.com for tracking food/exercise.

    Anyhow, all that said, sorry for your BFN :(

  • RE wants me to lose 20-30 pounds - yikes!

    I am also using myfitnesspal.  I love it!   Plus I am going to see a trainer twice a week. I also have a Fitbit which tracks my steps & how active I am.  My goal is 6500 steps on my low activity days and 9-10,000 on my heavy workout days.

    I have debated on doing a cleanse but they honestly scare me.  I worry about the chemicals & don't think it is healthy to fast.  UGH, but I would like the jump start of pounds to see results on the scale.
