Rhea... how would you prn this?

Rhea

Ree-uh, Ray-uh or Ray?

We like the "Ray-uh" pronunciation but the Rhea spelling... you think it will be an issue? Any other way we could spell this that isn't made up? Thanks.

  • I pronounce Rhea like Ray uh, maybe because I went to high school with a Thea pronounced Tay uh.
  • MY DH suggested this name and I quickly nixed it because he was pronouncing it Ree-a.  My response was, "Like diarrhea?" Hells no.
  • Huh. I have known two Rheas, both rayuh, and one Ria, rheeuh.

eta: those should both have dashes between the syllables but they don't work on my phone. Hey, bump gods, why don't hyphens and brackets work when bumping from my phone?

    This!

And I know someone with the last name of Rhea, and it's pronounced Ray-uh.

So, Ree-uh for a first name and Ray-uh for a last name.

I would probably think Ray or Ree uh, probably never ray uh. I think if you want ray-uh, you should try Rheia
