I love the name Linus. I would definitely be my number one house, but LO's last name starts with a Sh-sound. Do you think it's awkward to say something like Linus Sherman? 

My DH pointed out that our DD's name ends in an "s" sound--Eloise, and I never thought it sounded strange. But for some reason, Linus sounds a little awkward.

I think you are over-thinking it. I see nothing wrong with Linus Sherman sound. I'd raise an eyebrow at Linus Shinus or something equally rhyme.

Since your last name has the /sh/ sound, Linus sounds fine.  Eloise sounds fine because it's a /z/ sound.

It's fine! Linus is adorable, and pairs so well with Eloise.

I think they blend together too much. As another poster pointed out, Eloise ends in a "z" sound, which doesn't meld into a "sh" at all. It's not the case for Linus. I don't care for them together, personally.

I have too agree......it seems to have an awkward pause and stumble between the names.

Love Linus! It wouldn't bother me with an S last name. Reminds me of Harrison Ford's character in Sabrina.
