Rotavirus Vaccination Question

My LO is 4.5 months and just had his 4 month shots last Tuesday. He seemed to be fine, he didn't get a temperature or fussy. On Thursday, however, he started having extra watery and explosive diarrhea 4-5 times a day. I called my pedi's office yesterday, but they haven't called me back despite calling them again today. I'm guessing its a reaction to the rotavirus vaccine?

Has anyone else had the same experience? Thanks in advance for any help you may have!

My DS had a ton of runny poop for about 3 days after the vaccination. He also got some blood in his poop. And he was extra fussy and slept poorly for several days. It sucked!

My DS also had a similar reaction after his two moth vaccinations. It lasted nearly 2 weeks and messed with his pooping schedule! However, it was very mild and it never bothered him - just me I think. I called the doctor a couple of times, and they even had me bring in a diaper sample. Basically I was told to just wait it out because his appetite was still the same and he was still being a happy baby. I hope yours passes quickly (no pun intended). I think this sort of thing upsets mommies more!

Thanks ladies! If anything his appetite has increased, so I'm thinking he's doing just fine. I guess I would probably be pretty grouchy if I had explosive diarrhea for days at a time so I figure he should be too. LOL.

Not sure if this was your first round of the rotavirus or not---but my little guy had a similar experience. I was worried what would happened when he got the second round at four months. If it helps, he didn't have any issues the second time around. He had pooped twice that day (usually he goes once a day), but that was it and it may have had nothing to do with the vaccine.
