peapod pick up, anyone?

The grocery store near me is now offering peapod pick-up, has anyone done this?  Its where you go online and order all your groceries, don't have to pay any extra delivery fee or anything, and then schedule a time to pick it up at the grocery store (Its a drive-up kind of thing, so I could do it without getting LO out of the car)

Has anyone else done this?  Seems like it would be really convenient,,, any reason not to?  Are the groceries a lot more expensive?

  • I live in Georgia and I have not heard of that. I would totally take advantage of it, if it is worth it! Good Luck, let us know how it works.

This. Only I'm in Oklahoma.  I would jump on that service in a heartbeat!  I hate grocery shopping and with two kids now, it's just a mess.

  • I'm doing this when I go back to work. I'm not going to kill 2 hours food shopping anymore!
  • We used to have a local chain that did this and I loved it, so, of course, they stopped doing it.

I use Peapod delivery every so often and I find the prices aren't way out of line.  They have weekly sales and you can use coupons, they even double coupons up to $0.99.  Overall, I'd be willing to pay a bit more if it meant not having to do all the actual shopping myself.  Plus, once you've done it a few times ordering becomes super easy because you can just shop from your last couple of lists.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • I loved peapod when I lived in the DC area--so convenient.  Our local chains now don't do as good of a job with it.  I think it's worth checking out.
