I still wear mine just in case, which is why it's good to buy reusable so you don't spend an arm and a leg on disposables. Mine will start to leak while I am feeding, but I just press on the nipple not being used and it stops the flow. I definitely wear them if I am going to be away from my LO for more than four hours too.
It just depends on the woman. My SIL has a LO a month younger than mine and she doesn't leak anymore. I doubt I would actually leak through a shirt now, but the fear that I might keeps me putting them in my bras haha.
I'm just now able to go without them at almost 8 weeks. I will probably still use them if I'm out and about though, just to avoid possible embarrassment.
I always wore them with DS1 and I am again with DS2. I work in a high school and a leak might send the boys over the edge. I never wanted to risk it, though I don't think I ever really leaked. The only time I probably did was when I missed a pumping session due to unforeseen circumstances, which happened a lot with my job.
Do you have to wear them the entire time you are breastfeeding, or does your body start to regulate and you stop needing them?
Adding to this question, does your breasts leak because your breasts do not have the capacity from ever increase in milk supply? Is leaking a good thing?
I had to wear them the entire time I BF both of my DD (1 year each). I always leaked out of the breast not being used. I also leaked as soon as I let down and needed to pump at work. I got better after the first month but never perfect. So, to answer your question, depends on the person!
I needed them for close to a year, After the initial engorgement I wore only 1 and I would rotate it and have it on the opposite side I was feeding from because that side always leaked

When I was feeding my baby the other boob would always leak too, not just randomly
