For those who just had babies

When I think about you guys having newborns and a toddler, I'm like how do they do it. Sophia is very needy and needs to be held and entertained while she's awake. I can't even picture how she would be if I had a baby right now.

I mean, she literally needs my attention a 100 percent of the time.

That's what older siblings are for, isn't it? :D

  • The only way I survive(d) it is tandem baby wearing (baby wrapped on my front, toddler in a kinderpack on my back), tandem breastfeeding, and giving birth to a faaaaaar more easygoing, mellow baby than my oldest.

  • I'm lucky I think. DD2 has been minimally jealous and has actually been interested in her brother. She pets his head when he cries and tries to give him his paci. She runs to his RnP as soon as she gets up in the AM to say hi. As long as he doesn't have HER blankies she's pretty much good to go!

ETA: R is also suuuuuuper chill.

  • I'm so scarrrred!  I don't know how I'm going to do it either.

DD was a very easy going baby and is a fairly independent toddler, however I follow a former TTGP bumpies blog and her second is super fussy and demanding and I don't think I have the stones to deal with that if it happens.

Plus, how do I lean over the crib to rub DD's back while she's falling asleep (new demand from her) with a newborn hanging off of my boob??  This could get interesting.

  • Oh it is interesting... or at least exhausting. However, I also have to say Nolan is SO easygoing it helps but I always feel bad that he never gets the hardcore one on one attention DD got as an infant. :(
