lactose free formula

I think its time to switch to lactose free formula, I have been using enfamil newborn but lo passes gas and it fussy so im thinking his tummy hurts. Should I mix them and gradually switch?

If it were me, I would switch straight out, and see if after a few days the gas subsides. That way you for sure know. But it wouldn't hurt to mix them gradually.

Humans are born with the ability to digest lactose.  passing gas and being fussy sometimes defines young babies because they have an immature digestive system.  True Lactose intolerance comes with green slimy mucousy poop often with bloody streaks.

 

thats not entirely correct...you described milk allergy but pp described what could be a milk intolerance and yes humans ar born w the ability to digest human lactose but lots of people do not have the enzyme to break down cow lactose, especially in the African American community.
