Wide or Standard bottles?

So, I'm just in the middle of registering for my baby shower and I have no idea what the difference between the Wide bottles and the Standard bottles is. Obviously I know the Wide bottles are wider, but is that the only difference? Is one better than the other? 

I'm looking at the Playtex Ventaire Bottles. I don't plan on breastfeeding if that makes any difference.

I'm not sure of the difference between wide or standard, but my deciding factors were 1) had to be bpa free and 2) not made in China.  I went with Avent Natural and DD seems to love them.

I think the main point of wide neck bottles are that they simulate the breast more. Which if you're not going to BF, then I don't think it matters. Some babies do prefer them I guess. My DD never liked the wide nipples and did better with narrow standard nipples.

We are using the playtex bottles and have two wide ones. My son eats with both sizes and no issues. My only advice would be to watch the flow of the nipples. We ended up with one fast flowing nipple and cannot use it because it drips super fast. All the other nipples drip slow where he needs to suck to get his formula.

For what its worth, I used to watch twin boys who used Playtex Ventaire Bottles and I remember it being really annoying to try and fit the scoop of formula into.

I use Playtex and I use dr browns mainly dr browns. Pain in the with all the parts to clean but I love them

i use Dr. Brown's too. The cleaning isn't a big deal bc I just toss the parts into a dishwasher basket and was on the top shelf.
