Discontinuing: IKEA Sundvik Crib

For anyone who has interest in the Sundvik crib, get it now!  We were at a local store last weekend - saw Last Chance tabs on all the Sundviks...was going to buy our gray-brown one right then...out of stock.

Come home to order online - out of stock.  And talked to a great lady in customer sevice who confirmed that the crib was being discontinued as of October - but our store isn't being replenished, so basically done there.  And she said the chances of online replenishing is slim too.

So off to an IKEA 2+ hours away we go tomorrow!  Picking up the Sundvik gray-brown crib, 5 drawer (tall) Hemnes dresser and the 8 drawer Hemnes dresser...love this stuff!

I found this out about a month ago. Unless you live in California, there aren't many left. I tried every store around the country. But for those who like that style, we found a similar one at Walmart. I actually like it a bit better and I was devastated when they told me they were discontinuing the Sundvik (mainly because I had searched for so long to figure out what I wanted) It is the Baby Mod Modena Crib, it comes in tons of colors, which is cool. We got our this week and love it! (We got white)

Oh I really like that one too!  The MA store that we'll be going to is showing 7 in their store inventory...so calling tonight to confirm before we head there tomorrow.  Here's hoping!

That's a shame.  We bought that crib over a year ago and it's held up great and we'll be passing it on to # 2 this year.  If you find another local store has it in stock, you can ask the sales guys to reserve the items before heading over if inventory is low so you won't risk having it sell out before you get there.

Thank you for posting! I had to check online for the stores near me and unfortunately they are out of stock too!! It took so long for us to agree on a crib now it's back to square one!! Thanks for the heads up!

So sorry to hear... We are just returning from 4 hours of driving to pick one up. Happy to say there were 7 left in the Mass.location. its too bad that they won't ship from a store that has stock. I hope you find something you can agree on!

This is an old post but just wanted to thank the pp for the Bab Mod recommendation...I was getting bummed about not being able to get the Sundvik crib as I think the OP is right about being discontinued, and while it's $80 more, I really love the espresso one, and in fact, I love it more than the Ikea Sundvik. So, thank you!!

I got mine and like it better too! It's a really nice crib! 

I am so excited to pick it up from Walmart on Monday - I ordered it the night I saw your post.  It sounds like it's solid and very easy to put together, such a great modern style too.

They aren't in stock online. They don't tell you that though until you enter all your information in and get to the end of check out. It's super annoying. They only have left what is left in stores. I couldn't find any except in like California. They also won't ship from store, trust me, I tried everything and talked to multiple people from IKEA

Haha lucky! That one I did find is nice though. I checked all the states that touched mine:) lol
