Is your baby still sleeping in your room?

My LO is going to be 7 weeks old this Friday and he is sleeping in our room still.  I have him sleeping in a bassinet.  I was thinking about moving him to his room when he is 2 months old, but wondered what some of you have done.  I know it's a matter of preference, I'm just curious since we all have babies that are similar in age.

Re: Is your baby still sleeping in your room?

  • Ours will be 10 weeks this Saturday, she is still in the bassinet in our room. I am thinking we will move her to her crib in about 4 to 6 weeks. I think the problem is that I'm not ready yet, she'd probably be fine.

  • Our kiddo is still in our room and probably will be until she grows out of her bassinet. She's 10 weeks now.

Quite honestly, I'm not ready to move her. I'm sure she would sleep fine on her own, but I like being able to look over and see her, adjust her head, swaddle, etc. She also still wakes up once a night, so it's easier to have her in the room for that wake up.

She's a tall girl, so I'm sure she won't fit in her bassinet for much longer. I'm just enjoying her while I can!

My son is 7 weeks and we made the transition last weekend. I REALLY wasn't ready, I loved having him right next to me, but I was so afraid if I didn't do it soon, he would out grow the RnP and then I'd be really screwed. I had really low expectations for the first night, but he went right in, no tears or anything! The trick is to put them down when they're already sleeping. Since making the transition, were all sleeping better too! Good luck :

DD is still in our room for the time being and she's 9 weeks old today. We have her in the RnP right now because she hates the bassinet. We'll probably start the transition soon because I go back to work in a few weeks and I'm sure I won't wake up to every little grunt and movement that way.
mc 5/3/2012, gone, but always in our hearts! <3

  • LO still sleeps in a PNP in our room.  She is STTN so I'm sure we could move her to the crib.  But I just feel more comfortable and I can sleep better knowing she is just an arms length away!

10 weeks, PNP in our room. It is recommended they sleep in  parents' room until 4 months to reduce SIDs risk.
  • My LO is 7.5 weeks and still in the RnP in our room. He still wakes up twice at night most nights, so it is just easier to have him there, though he can be really noisy, ugh.

i am not sure when we will move him. Probably not until he is sleeping longer stretches and only waking up once per night or STTN (hopefully in the not too distant future!)

  • Mine is 6 weeks & sleeps in a bassinet in our room. The pedi suggested he sleep in our room until 3 months.

DS is 10 weeks old today and still in our room. I wanted to put him in his room at 2 months, but DH wants to wait until the nightly feeding is dropped. I think we're going to try in two weeks regardless. DS is easy to put down for the most part so it shouldn't be a big deal.

  • DD is 6 weeks and in our room in her PNP. She was in her RnP the first 3 weeks, but she really likes to stretch out and moves and wiggles a lot in her sleep, so we moved her to the PnP and she sleeps much better. Actually, she's been STTN, but I'm not ready to move her to her own room, even though I'm sure she'll do fine.

We will be keeping LO in the room with us for the first six months, as this is recommended for SIDS risk reduction.

  • My daughter is closing in on 11 weeks and still in the RNP right next to my bed or in my bed some nights. Her crib is in my room and we will be xosleeping for at least a year out of necessity. I don't see any rush though.

DS is 9 weeks old and we moved him into his room 2 weeks ago.  He slept longer in is own room so it's working out well.

We moved LO into her room at 4 weeks. She was making so much noise sleeping that I didn't get any sleep. We all get a lot more sleep in our own rooms.

My son is almost 11 weeks and is still in his bassinet in our room. I plan on keeping him in our room until 6 months because research has shown it decreases SIDS risk. But he will most likely have to be moved into the crib part of the pack and play soon as he is outgrowing his bassinet :)
  • Our LO is in his crib, in our room (we have a 1bdrm apartment), and will be there for a year and a half (we will be moving to a bigger place then)

This, but mine is only 8 weeks
  • My son will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and he still sleeps in our room. I don't have any immediate plans to move him to his crib, but I would like him to be sleeping through the night before we make the transition. He doesn't like sleeping flat on his back (he likes his RnP and his car seat, that's about it for the moment) so I know he won't like the crib for now. Plus I'm not ready, so I'll blame it on his sleep preferences for at least another month or two :)

  • DD is 7 weeks tomorrow and I've been way more of a softy the 2nd time around. Just this past week, we started putting her down in her crib first (around 8/8:30pm) and when we go to bed later on, I take her to her RnP in our room.
