Re: Infant carriers...
I have an Ergo Sport from last time and DD wasn't a huge fan when she was tiny even with the insert (that I borrowed). I plan on getting a Baby K'tan for the first months. I have friends that swear by them. they look like a Moby, but already sewn together so easy to put on and off.
It is not good for baby's hips to be facing outward, so just avoid carriers that do this. And if you can borrow a few different ones to try out ahead of time, that would be ideal.

consider a gauze wrap, like bali breeze, if you think you will like wrapping. Ellaroo wrap is another lightweight option.
I'm a FTM but I found this website helpful for comparing

Basically, I'd be prepared for your preferences to change over time. I started with just the Moby, then as he got bigger tried new things based on research/recommendations.
I bought our Ergo when DD2 was about 6 months and really liked it for that age and up. I think it would work best for an older baby.
I have a ring sling now and love it for DD3. It's really easy to use, and I've been able to breastfeed in it as well. I think it will be nice to do a quick hip carry when DD3 is older.
