Has anyone decided just not to use bottles at all and just use the RTF nursers with the disposable nipples? I can't stand washing and sterilizing bottles all day long. Maybe I'm lazy, but I feel like I'm cleaning all day long.
We used RTF nursers with the disposable nipples when we first got home from the hospital and to supplement about half her feedings. It got expensive. We now keep them on hand for travel but since she eats 4+ ounces per feeding we go through them quickly, even with just occasional use. Also, we washed the disposable nipples for a couple times of use but they don't last forever. If you need a longer term solution for those, the Gerber First Essentials nipples and rings fit the RTFs. We just figured that out. I prefer the silicone nipples anyway.
This is pretty much what we do too. We are travelling in June and I just ordered nursers for the plane rides. it's just too pricey to use the nursers all the time. Keep in mind that the number of bottles will go down as the baby gets older/eats more in one sitting. I hate washing too... it's a lot, especially with twins! Oh, and I don't bother to sterilze. Nothing about the making of formula is sterile anyway. Hot soapy water is good enough.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
