Durability of a Phil&Ted?

For those with a Phil and Ted doubles stroller... I am looking at getting a used one off craigslist and can find some in the $150-$250 range.  My question is, if the stoller is already a few years old, is this still going to be worth it?  We are expecting number 2 and I imagine will get a good amount of use out of it.  Thoughts?  Opinions?  Reviews in general of a Phil&Ted?

Re: Durability of a Phil&Ted?

  • It really depends on how it was treated. We recently upgraded from the Phil and teds sport that we have had for over three years to a navigator and our stroller is I almost perfect condition. We will be seeking ours for 350 however I have seen some people abuse there strollers those will not last long. If its in good shape then yes they will give you many many more years of life . Make sure you look at the strollers before buying them. Look for rips in seams , rust on the screws strollers left outside will rust easily and there's bound to be more damage if you see rust in the screws . Also look at the wheels . There should be minor ware on the wheels but if you see any kind of buckling around the rim then you know they haven't been kind to there stroller . All in all Phil and teds strollers are awesome and will last you forever if taken care of.
  • Ditto PP, if it was taken care of it will last and then some. Our Sport was over four years old when I sold it, the guy that bought it didn't believe me at first because it looked nearly new. We used ours quite a bit, but it was either in the van or inside, I didn't want sun fading or weather damage. We're down to a Smart stroller now!
