Ugh, it's just looming over my head now that my little baby is going to be 3 in less than a month and off to school.
Everything went really easy except for the time slot. They want him in school from 12:30-3 and I agreed to it until the end of the school year. If he cannot transition to that time frame by then, then we're going to revisit it for the summer program.
DS1 still naps almost every day for 2-3 hours. He also gets a muscle relaxer 3 times a day and the 1-3 time frame is a really rough time for him. Between the "no nap" fatigue and the sedation from the muscle relaxer I'm just not sure he's going to be able to make it through the 2.5 hours. Their argument is that the functioning level of the afternoon class is more appropriate for him than the morning class. They also do not have any morning openings for the rest of the school year but could possible open one up in the summer.
Outside of that our district was really easy. They're sending him to a private school with a great reputation and have offered him the maximum amount of services the school can provide in their half day program.
