I did not take DH's last name when we married.  We decided that our children would have my last name as their middle name and DH's last name for their surname.  That being said, all we have to pick is the first name!

We agree on Alexander if LO is a boy.  

Girl names:

I actually like them in the way you ordered them from Alexandra most to Eileen least.

Side note. Completely missed the Alexander part. If you think you my have another and Alexander is your selected boy name and you have a girl this time I would obviously not use Alexandra.

We're stopping at two, so if I have another boy, we'll be set with Oliver and Alexander.  Ollie and Alex - which we could have whether LO is a boy or a girl if we pick Alexandra. We like all the girl names, but it's so hard to pick for some reason.  Eileen is my grandmother's name, and DH suggested that we should consider it because we both like it.

Eileen is my favourite by far.

But I also like how both Evelyn and Oliver have a single V and the same number of syllables (if you pronounce it Ev-ih-lyn, as opposed to Eve-lyn -- and I have heard both girls and boys pronounced Eve-lyn, though it is more common for males).

If you might have another child then you should probably eliminate Alexandra and save Alexander for a boy.

They are all really nice names, but my preference in order is Vivian, Eileen (family name for us, I'd consider using it for a DD), and Evelyn.
