You may want to check out programs through the Y, or maybe check that "Meetup" website (not sure of the web address off hand- probably just meetup.com), for playgroups in your area.
in the nice weather, head to the river, lots of people hang out or tube around I believe it is the CT river in betweeen VT and NH. Or last time I was in Keene I noticed they had put some work into the rail trail.
you can always head to Monadnock State park and hike around.
