When will/did you stop using the infant insert?

My friend is giving me her Ergo this weekend and I'm wondering if I need to buy the insert this late in the game. DS does fine in the K'Tan with minimal support but I'm interested to hear what you guys think.

It looks like from your ticker that your LO is over 3 months. If he has good head control you shouldn't need it. I stopped using it with my DD a few weeks ago.

I just bought mine a week or 2 ago and didn't get the infant insert, DD does fine without it.

How big is your LO? Once G got to around 14 or 15 lbs and she could straddle me well we started going without the insert.  I wouldn't buy the insert though, if your DS seems a little small just roll up a blanket and put it under his butt.

We stopped around 3 months. She has good head control and I just held onto the back of her head if I thought she was getting jostled around too much. I did find a rolled up receiving blanket in the bottom of the Ergo helpful otherwise she sank down really low.

Thanks ladies, I think I will forgo the insert. I can't believe our babies are so big already!

We haven't used it for about a month. She has great head control and didn't really like the insert much.
