Coconut oil and Milkies
With my last two babies I slathered on the lanolin to heal my cracked nipples and it helped, but it took awhile for them to fully heal. This time I tried coconut oil and OMG it's made such a difference. And it smells so good. I've even used it to make a sugar scrub to use on my son's skin.
I forget where I first read about Milkies, but decided to try it since I have a forceful letdown on both sides when I BF and my breast pads were always soaked after a feeding. I've managed to catch anywhere from 1-2 oz at each feeding just from letdown on the non-feeding side. IMO it's definitely worth the $20+.
Re: For BFing mamas, two things I couldn't live without this time around
I'm going to have to try those Milkies. FTM here, but I only JUST realized that the giant wet spots on my shirt while nursing were from letdown on the left while nursing on the right, etc.
I have a Daughter born 2/26/2013. She is pretty much amazing!
