Is this completely crazy? My husband wants to surprise his grandmother for her 80th and go see her in FL. We live in NJ, so it's under 3 hours. But we would have to check the pack and play, stroller, etc. Is this insane for us to even consider. Plus, I'm debating on whether or not to buy a seat for the baby so he can be in his car seat?
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
Re: Flying with a 8 month old?
Not crazy at all! I would strongly consider leaving the PNP behind. We co-sleep so that is one plus for us when we travel we dont have to worry about where to put DD. And most hotels can bring you a crib, basically a PNP, just bring your own sheets.
We did not take a stroller when we flew cause DD was only 4 months so we just had the carrier. We werent doing too much walking anyhow. Also, we gate checked the car seat. Did not take the base as ours can attach w just the seatbelt.
Just try to travel early morning. And if you are nursing, then nurse at take off and landing. Or give paci.
Oh, and we did not get her her own seat. She sat on me or DH.
I should mention that we were going to bring the PNP because we are staying at my in-laws condo. my in-laws will be there so we'd be in a twin bed, not so sure how that would work out for co-sleeping. We don't co-sleep with him mostly because he is a VERY active sleeper, I mean all over the place.
I guess I'm just mostly nervous!
Not crazy! We are flying with DS next week.
We have a small umbrella type stroller and are gate checking the car seat. We didnt buy him his own seat because he's so small still. He doesn't use a PNP so we dont have to worry about that.
We are excited!
