My daughter is 10 days old and constantly wants to nurse. During the day she wants to feed every 1 to 1.5 hour and will cry if I don't feed her immediately.During the night its a bit different she will go 3 to 4 hours and we wake her up to feed her. Is there anyone else that has experienced this? I am unsure if this is just a newborn or there is something else going on.
Re: nursing
Yup. Fairly typical and she will space the daytime feedings out soon. DD still cluster feeds where sometimes during the day she will want to nurse fairly frequently. Hang in there, it gets easier!
That's my DD too. She still does that only she sleeps even more at night now. I figure if she eats more during the day and sleeps more at night, I get more sleep even though I get less done during the day.
It frustrating sometimes to have to nurse her every hour for and hour but she loves it and she is supper healthy and growing great! Some of the time she is mostly nursing to relax and take a nap and that's okay too b/c if it makes her feel that good why would I want to stress her out by denying her?
Your daughter sounds perfectly normal and healthy.
