Even with a CD bum, DD is just now growing out of her NB sized sleepers and onesies at 6 weeks. If not for the CD, she could still wear them, and it's helping her 0 to 3 month stuff finally fit. She's long and skinny, so the CD bum is helpful lol.
We did gowns for the first 1-2 months. That might be the way to go if you're concerned with sizing. Just a warning at 7 lbs the gowns were huge on our daughter.
She also fit into her 3 month sleepers for a good 2-3 months from months 2 to 5. We always had to go a size up one month before.
LO was 7lbs 11oz and wore newborn sleepers with feet for the first month. It wasn't til she was bigger and needed extra absorbency that we had issues with clothing size. And even now most of her diapers are quite trim, fuzzibunz elite fits under jeans no problem.
Re: BTDT: CD Bums
ETA He never wear pants; either onesie plus Babylegs or a sleeper.
Yes. DD was 7 lb 5 oz at birth and wore newborn size clothing (including sleepers) for about a month even over cloth diapers.
