We'll be traveling over the next few months. First by plane, then a long car ride.
For the plane ride, we'll be bringing stuff to keep her busy, a kindle fire, stroller, and the Bjorn. We haven't put her in the Bjorn since before she was 1.Anyone carry their LO in a bjborn now that they are bigger? Any other flying tips with a toddler other than patience?
For the car trio we've got the DVD player, a travel potty, an I just got a tray that goes over her car seat.
Anyone else going on trips this year or have additional tips?

Re: Traveling w/LO
She would never let me put her in a carrier (nor would I want to). How much does your LO weigh? Who will be carrying her?
The stroller has always been sufficient for the airport. Why would you need both?
DH would be doing the carrying. The main reason we were thinking of bringing both for the airport was that we are flying standby. So we might be flying to our destination and getting in real late or departing real early (5:15am). Our lightweight stroller does recline but DD has never been up for sleeping in her stroller...ever.
I guess I just worry that she might want to be carried. We would definately have to test out whether or not she will even go in the carrier first. She weighs about 25 lbs now.

Ergo saves my life in airports. I can walk through security with her strapped to my chest. The first time I put her in it, it had been a year since the last time. She totally gave me a "wtf" stink eye, but got over it pretty quickly.
Lots of snacks, and a blanket on the plane.
Hidden lollipops in case you have a meltdown (last trip, it happened checking in).
Are you using your carseat on the plane? We couldn't get the buckle through ours, so I gate checked it.
I advise NOT pre boarding the flight. Sitting on the plane for 30-40 minutes before take off is brutal. If you're not putting the carseat on the plane, do not pre-board. My daughter lost her patience just waiting for take off. The later we boarded on flights the better (we've flown on 6 different flights at this point in time).
Snacks, new games, and maybe a bit of benedryl to ease the transition to sleep.
