cold and rsv... plz help ftm

My now 7 month old had rsv at 4 months. Now we all have colds and I'm worried it will turn to rsv again. Anyone experience this. We have a well check tmorrow but I'm struggling with getting insurance and I'm cash pay. I didn't want to have to have a sick visit then come back next week for a well visit.  I will do anything to keep my baby healthy.  I know if I call they will want the sick visit just to be safe. Idk I'm at a loss

What are your symptoms? What are the babies symptoms? Do any of you have a fever? If not, hopefully its just bad allergies. Try to see if your eligible for CHIP..

My daughter had RSV at 4 months too.  She hasn't had it again, thank goodness.  There isn't anything that can be done anyway for RSV for your little one unless they aren't eating/drinking AT ALL, are having labored breathing or a super high temp.  The best you can do is let them sleep on an incline, use a humidifier, suction the nose, make sure LO is getting fluids and try tylenol.  Good luck!

My daughter had RSV twice and spent a week in the hospital a 3 months.  Before she entered the hospital they gave her a nebulizer to use at home to help her breath.  Watch for signs of distress, neck breathing or stomach sinking in.  You will know if this happens, trust me.  I was afraid I wouldn't know, but you will.  Otherwise, keep her reclined, suction a lot, and help her sleep.  Sitting with her in a hot steamy bathroom for 20 minutes was also recommended to me.

DS2 had RSV at 2 months and ever since has had a cough, I hate it! Last week we all came down with a cold and yesterday he had his well visit and so far so good... no signs of RSV coming back. I've been using a cool mist humidifier in his room and suctioning his nose.
