help!

Lately my 16 month old son has Been really mean.. He will hit me, and try to bite me.. Today i was in ross looking for some stuff and he was being horrible.. Slapping me, kicking, screaming, throwing a huge fit.. Everyone was looking at me like i was a horrible mother. As soon as i got out of the store i started crying.. Ugh this is so frustrating.. Sorry just needed to vent, im a emotional wreck right Now..

It comes with the age unfortunately.  Best you can probably do is try to redirect him and try not to take it personally.  I know it's easier said than done though as I too can't help but feel terrible when DS acts up.

Maybe some sort of distraction could help with the public outbursts.  Perhaps a seldom used toy, or maybe letting him play with what you're shopping for could distract him. At home, you could try to teach him how to be gentle by praising him when he listens.

The tantrums aren't here to stay fortunately.  The key is staying firm with how you need him to treat you.  Best of luck!
