So my LO is 8 mth old and he gets cereal, baby food, and breast milk everyday, but I kinda feel like he should be introduce to real food. When did you introduce foods to your child and what types of food?? how did you prepare them? I also don't know if this matters but I have lots of food allergies so should I not give him certain foods till later on?? thanks

Re: FTM here needing help :)
I would speak with your son's pedi and come up with a plan for introducing foods. Let them know of your allergies... chances are they'll tell you to hold off on those until LO is older or instruct you on how to introduce them slowly and what signs of a reaction to look for.

I agree with previous posters. My DD has been eating "real foods" for a two weeks (she is 8 months old today). We are going on a trip to Europe for a month and I want her to be able to eat what we eat for the most part. That said, she has no allergies at this point. I've actually been making my baby food and started leaving it quite chunky at around 7 months. She has had no issues with the food being chunky.
On another note, apparently things like wheat, eggs and peanuts are now suppose to be introduced earlier. They now believe that delaying exposure to them, may actually cause allergies. But again, I would check with your pediatrician first.
