I'd like to start teaching my daughter the basics like colors, body parts, numbers, etc but I'd rather her learn it in spanish because she'll learn english in school.
We only speak spanish at home, so have been reading in spanish to him since his days in the NICU. DS loves the Giving Tree and Horton Hears a Who in spanish. However, now that he's really paying attention and trying to learn the words, I found found several simple books that are much better for learning than just reading to him in spanish.

I only speak Spanish to my son as well. There are lots of titles that are great for learning all sorts of vocabulary:
1.Este no es mi ninito and Este no es mi camion (part of a series that is also found in English)
2. Huevos Verdes con Jamon and Hay UN Mollilo en mi Bolsillo and Eres mi Mama? (All Dr. Seuss books well translated)
3. Donde esta mi ombliguito? (And other Karen Katz books translated)
4. Tengo Diez Deditos
5. Bilingual Bright Baby Trucks, Bilingual Bright Baby Colors (again, two of a series all translated into Spanish)
6. Quiero a mi mama porque and Quiero a mi papa porque
7. Eric Carle books translated: La Oruga Muy Hambrienta and La Arana Muy Ocupada and De La Cabeza hasta Los Pies) and more.
some of these have more advanced vocabulary... Enjoy!
