I posted last week about DS becoming very fussy at the breast- and it's gotten worse as the days have gone on. Thankfully he still managed to gain 3 oz between Friday and yesterday, but the poor thing wails almost every time I try to feed him. No fever, no spitting up, he's pooping and peeing great and burping regularly. He takes a pacifier, so it probably isn't an ear infection that makes sucking painful, nor do I think it's the taste of the milk, since he's taken that a few times from a bottle just fine over the past few days.
I talked to an LC yesterday and though we obviously can't rule anything out, the lack of sputtering/coughing makes her think it's not a too fast let down and the fact that we can see milk in his mouth when I take him off when he starts crying make slow let down/slowing milk flow seem unlikely, too.
I'm kind of at a loss. I've made an appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow morning to have her look A over to make sure there's nothing physically going wrong. Any suggestions on things I should ask about? And just taking another stab at seeing if anyone else had had similar issues and if a cause was found.
Re: Fussy feedings continue
I think you suggested that last time and it's on my list of things to ask about. Your DD had it- silent reflux, right? Were there any signs/symptoms that you can recognize looking back? I hadn't though reflux due to no spitting up and him taking the bottle ok, but I want to explore EVERY avenue.

My DD was the one with silent reflux. She would take a bottle fine too--I think bc it flowed faster so she had to just keep swallowing...not really sure. Pedi thought it could be bc I was feeding her at more of an incline when she drank out of a bottle.
For sure follow your instincts and don't leave that Pedi office until they help you. I put it off for 4m knowing that something was wrong and DD was suffering the whole time
The great thing is, there really aren't any negative side effects to Zantac so if that is not the problem, the Rx won't really hurt him. GL!
