UB Vista with Rumble Seat vs. City Select Double

We will join the 2 under 2 club in June and am trying to figure out my stroller situation.  We have the UppaBaby Vista, which I love, but the reviews on the Vista as a double are pretty mixed.  My LO will be 18 months when baby arrives so she will continue to ride in the stroller for awhile.  She's tall for her age though so I don't want her to be cramped in the 2nd seat.  I'm debating selling my Vista and buying the City Select since it has a lot more options as a double.

Has anyone gone from the Vista to the City Select to accommodate a second child?  If you use the Vista as a double, do you like it or do you wish you had something else?

TIA!

I had and sold my Vista once my son was born.  It's an okay double for short outings but the rumble seat only has a 30 or 35 lb weight limit, there's no canopy and the stroller doesn't push very well when you use it.  If I were you, I would sell the Vista and get the B-Ready or City Select.  I don't love the City Select because I think it's hard to push with 2 kids in it and for that reason I think the B-Ready makes a much better double but lots of people love the City Select.

I have the Bumbleride Indie Twin which I adore if you are open to a side by side.  It's easy to maneuver and I can push it with 1 hand which was a requirement for me. I also got a lightweight stroller so if I am out with both kids, I can either wear DS and DD can ride or DD can walk and DS can ride.

  • We have and love the Vista but DS hates the 2nd seat when DD came along because he couldn't see around her.  He loves his seat on the City Select we bought and it serves its purpose but it is by no means as nice to push as the Vista.

Thanks for the feedback!  Sounds like when it comes to a double, there's no perfect stroller.  I'm open to a side-by-side, but they seem huge to me.

The Indie Twin is huge and heavy, but it's easy to maneuver once the kids are in it.  It also has a huge sun shade, which I love.  I just hate getting it in and out of my SUV.  I wish I'd looked into the City Mini GT double, since I've heard it's lighter and easier to fold.

    Thanks!

For a lightweight double, the Valco Snap Dual is great.  It's really light at only 22 lbs which is less than your Vista!

Thanks for the suggestion!  I've never seen a Valco stroller in person -- and I've been to a lot of baby stores!  Hopefully I can find somewhere to check it out.

It depends on where you live.  Valco is only in certain markets.  I have the Valco and I bought it online from somewhere that had free returns so I could try it out.
