4 month wakeful period

Dear God, how long does this last??
Our little Samosa arrives in January!

Re: 4 month wakeful period

  • I have no idea but I am also going through it right now. I have read that it takes like 2-3 weeks and other people say that the sleep improves but doesnt go back to how it used to be. Who knows.

  • LO is 3.5 months, 14 weeks on Wednesday and I thought it was too early to be 4 month wakeful period... But she has been waking up several times a night for the last 3 nights. Shes always been a great sleeper and has been sleeping 12 hrs straight since 8 weeks. But now shes sleeping 73ish and is then up again every hour or so for her pacifier and wont stay asleep very long. She hasnt had a MOTN feeding or diaper change in weeks so this is definitely unusual for her.
Could this be 4month wakeful period already? And how long does it last?

We've been going through this for weeks.  I can't wait for it to be over.

  • I'm asking the same question.. I went from being halfway awake at work to barely able to hold my eyes open. I'm exhausted. DD went from 1 night feeding, to getting up 3 or 4 times a night... And wanting to play. I'm going to lose my mind. And we've only been at this for about a week.

  • DD STTN when she was 1213 weeks old, by 14 weeks she was doing no more than 3 hours at a time and it's been that way since, she's 18.5 weeks now

I've read it can go for months. I'm not holding my breath.

The week after DS's shots he went from STTN to waking up at odd hours during the night, multiple times each night. Thankfully on the seventh night he finally STTN again and has every night since. I hope it's over. He takes better naps now and is eating more now.

I don't know if it was the shots, a growth spurt or the 4 month wakeful...

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

  • According to my baby, sleep is for wimps.  I'd forgotten how much I hate this part.  I miss sleep.
