NBR: 5 yr Anniversary

So DH and I are celebrating our 5 yr wedding anniversary at the end of this month. We will be on vacation in Cabo but I still wanted to get him a thoughtful gift. After being together for 13 yrs and married for almost 5 I'm kinda at a loss for what to get him. Do any of you creative ladies have some suggestions?

Congrats and happy anniversary!  I have given up on getting MH actual gifts.  He's too picky, and if he wants something he usually buys it himself.  I have started buying him experiences.  Things like hunting or fishing trips, golf lessons, golf tournament tickets, etc.  Does YH have a hobby?

Oooooh a trip to Cabo sounds like the perfect way to celebrate a wedding anniversary.  JEALOUS.  What about buying something like a surprise excursion for at the resort.  Would he like snorkeling?  Scuba diving?  Taking a day to go out to an island on a catamaran?  Renting a boat and going fishing?  Or even a couples massage?  Maybe check out what your resort has to offer and see if there is anything you think he would like.

I also like TJ's idea.  If he has a hobby you could always get him a GC or something for a day of golf, etc.

Thanks for the ideas! DH's biggest hobby is collecting sports cards and comics but I was hoping to get something more thoughtful. Buying an experience is def. the way to go.

Ultimately I'd love to get a couples massage but DS is coming with us so that's not really feasible! Thanks though, we are super excited for this trip

  • Happy Anniversary!  The traditional gift for 5 years is wood, so maybe you could do a carved picture frame with the 2 of you doing something you both love.  Or you could arrange for a bon fire on the beach with just the 2 of you - s'mores, wine, etc?  Maybe your hotel concierge could arrange for something like that.  My DH isn't big into gifts, since he gets himself what he wants but he likes thoughtful activities.

Oops, just saw that DS is coming with you.  He might like it too if you do it early enough.
