How long for stomach bug to pass?

How long can I expect this horrid stomach flu to last? My poor kiddo has been dealing with vomiting and diarrhea since Thursday night with no end in sight. He hasn't had a fever in two days and isn't acting as lethargic anymore but definitely still wants to lay around.

Also, when we went to the pedi on Friday she said just to offer him sips of water and pedialyte and watch for dehydration. Does anyone know in oz how much water a 13 month old should be getting when sick? He won't take pedialyte but will take some sips of water. He isn't taking much.

Just keep pushing the fluids. We had a nasty flu bug last year, and it took my girls, especially my older one about a month to fully recover. She wouldn't even drink her beloved milk she was so ill. Have you tried the pedialyte pops? Or even sugar free popsicles to get some fluids in. Sorry you are going through this. I never knew how bad sick could be until I had children. It's so hard to know what they are going through when they can't even tell you. Hang in there!

My girl won't take pedialyte from her sippy but will take it from a syringe. I have no idea why but it works. We also do the frozen pedialyte pops. Hope your little one feels better soon.

I called the pedi again and she said I could expect vomiting and diarrhea for up to 10 days. She said as long as he is having at least one wet diaper every six hours I shouldn't worry too much. She also said to try a bottle with half milk and half water and see if he will take that and keep it down...and he did. Twice! He also took some chicken noodle soup and a little bit of banana before bed. I feel better knowing he has some liquid in him.

Good, glad he took some milk. I was a skeptic about the milk, of course my mom said I shouldn't give them milk when that sick. Doc said it was ok, it's liquid right?
