Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Night feeding

Hi, I am a first time mom. My baby just 10 days old. She wakes up and eat every 3hr even at night. I have to go back to work soon so I dont think i can possibly do it.  I want to ask how can i stretch it out so that i can feed her at 1AM and put her to sleep until maybe 5 or 6 AM. Or is she too young to do it. Also, she is formula, so everytime i feed her, i have to burp her. Then she sometime solid her diaper right away after i fed her. She then hungry again and if i dont feed her the second time. She wont sleep and will scream. What can I Do. Or what am i suppose to do at this stage. (i fully swaddle her)

!0 days?  Man, be thankful you are getting 3 hours out of her!  At that age mine was feeding every hour.  It wasn't until about 6weeks that she went beyond 2hrs at night.

You can't really train the baby that young...so are likely stuck with the every 3hr feeds.  If she's bottle fed can you have someone else do a feed in the night (husband)?

  • If your baby is still hungry after a bottle, put more in it. You are lucky to be getting 3 hr stretches. Change your babies diaper when it's dirty. Welcome to being a parent. Your babies needs come before your own, including your own sleep.
  • My baby is 7 weeks old and I go to work on 4 hours of sleep. Sorry there is no easy way out of waking up all night.
