DH and I found out Friday we are expecting a girl and we are not making much headway in choose names. Our DS has two middle names, and we'd like to stick to that 'trend' with this one, but are hitting brick walls. Neither is in love with the other's suggestions. I'm kind of a name freak and 'collect' favorite names from literature/movies/etc. Suggestions on how to go about choosing? We went with family names for DS, but our female family names are very old-ladyish, downright bizarre, or my name - Elizabeth. Make lists? Only veto names we really, truly hate? My first name of choice is Isla, and I THINK I'm winning him over to that, though he would prefer it for a middle name. Last name begins with a K.
Re: Middle name opinions needed

Sorry, yes, for suggestions on how to choose. The poll option is not working for me right now, otherwise I would have put up one with some of our current options. The other name I really like is Eleanor. So far we have:
Isla Ruby Eleanor
Isla Gwen (Meredith/Eleanor/Autumn)
Isla Meredith Eleanor
Isla Autumn Eleanor
Or, switch them around with Eleanor as the 1st middle. Isla sounds like it needs a name beginning with a consonant follow it.
This is exactly how we do it.
DS has two middle names; I haven't decided if I'm going to stick with that "trend" this time around. We had such an easy time picking out MN's for DS since they were both family names. This time around, I'm thinking about sticking with one; wayy too work finding THREE names DH & I both like!
GL!
Just wanted to say, holy cow I love that name. Great suggestion.
OP: DH and I have very different taste in names as well. For all three we both made a list, then had veto power over names on the others list. Then we took the final lists and combined them. Typically we're left with about five-ten possibilities which we choose from.
