gas?

my baby is very cranky after feeding and diaper changes. I am wondering if he may be having gas or colic? any suggestions to help soothe his crankiness?

I forgot to mention he is exclusively breastfed

  • Are you burping him for a while? LO is bottle fed BM but he is fussy when he doesn't get all the burps out he needs to. I know they say BF babies do not need to burp as much but it might be worth trying. Also you might try gas drops to see if they help?

My lo is exclusively breastfeed and he is very gassy. I am trying gripe water.

My 8 week old is very gassy.  But there is no mistaking it as she is burping and farting like a teenager.  Are you able to get to get baby to burp after feeds?  Speaking of which she just belched over the baby monitor in her sleep haha!

When mine is really upset from the gas I give a warm bath with a tummy massage and I cycle her legs in the warm tub.  That helps gets things moving.  Google different burping ideas...I came up with a handful that we switch around with I find this helps because sometimes I have to burp for 30plus minutes to calm her and we both get annoyed with the standard back patting for that long!  Now I can switch between different ways and she just thinks it's play time!

  • Are you taking time to burp him? After he feeds off of one breast, try burping him before he takes the other breast. Colic Calm grip water drops also work well for my LO.
