Is this tacky/rude?

I am going to start working on Noah's bday invitations and we are inviting 4 different neighborhood friends.  Instead of mailing the invitation, I was thinking I could just drop it in their mailboxes. Is that rude though?  I just think it is kinda funny to mail something to someone three house down.  KWIM?

I think that is fine.  I would hate to use stamps for those!

It isn't necessary tacky but it is against the law.  You are not allowed to put anything in the mailbox that doesn't have a stamp on it (that is why the flyers are always attached to the outside of the mailbox).  Couldn't you just go to their house and hand it to them...maybe even let Noah go with you?

I love the hand delivering idea!! I had a mail person actually take a blank envelope with my tenants check in it b/c it was in the mailbox.

Ditto hopefulmom--it's technically illegal.  I hand delivered thank you's for baby gifts to the neighbors.  I went to their doors.

I think it's completely fine. I think it'd be weird if did actually mail them.

It's not rude to hand deliver invites. In fact, it used to be rude NOT to hand deliver them.

I wouldn't put it in the mailbox - totally illegal.  But I don't think that it would be tacky to hand deliver them.
