My Son just turned 8 months old ( 4-26) and does not sleep anymore! I just don't know what happened.
From months 4-7 he started sleep through the night. 8-11 hrs at a time with out any night feedings. He's had a routine since he was 3 months old. We do the same thing every night around the same time.
Everynight now he wakes up every 1 1/2 to 3 hrs. He'll wake up screaming and crying like someone pinched him. And he's never cried like that before, ever. He'll just automactically sit up in his crib upset, and im pretty sure he's asleep because he doesn't open his eyes. I'll lay him back down and pat his back or butt to try and soothe him. It works sometimes. Other nights I can't console him at all, nothing helps besides a bottle. But I don't want him to get in the habbit of night feedings.
Anyone else having a similar problem??
Is it night time speration anxiety? Teething? Growth Spurts? A phase?
I'm at a loss and soo very tired.
Thank you for any help
Re: Baby doesn't sleep anymore. Need any advice! (8 months)
My daughter is 8 months old (today, in fact!) and we've been having the same problem. For the past 2 weeks, she suddenly wakes up twice - once around midnight and once around 4 am. I figured it was a growth spurt, because she sucks down an entire 6 oz bottle in minutes, and then falls back to sleep. I tried eliminating the first bottle at midnight and it's been HELL all weekend. So I don't know what's going on. I'm thinking it's separation anxiety, coupled with the fact that she is now used to having those 2 bottles in the MOTN.
For now I'm just going to ride it out and see if it passes on its own. If not, in a couple of weeks I'm going to try and start night weaning. I'll cut her bottle down by 1 oz every few nights and hope we can phase it out. She has STTN several times, so I know she can do it.
We are in the midst of the same thing, so I just wanted to tell you you're not alone! It started a couple weeks ago when he would wake every hour from 7:00-1:00am. Then he had a few good nights of sleep an now he's back to one waking between 1-3:00am for a bottle. I'm so confused! He used to sleep like a champ!
I just think it's a combination of teething (we are getting both top coming in at same time) development/learning new things, practicing new things, and a bit of a growth spurt. I just keep telling myself, eventually he's going to sleep haha.
Good luck!!!!!!!
This is a good point. DD can now sit up from laying down and crawl around her crib, and I think she will be pulling up to standing very soon. FUN TIMES!
