Pregnant after 35

flight today and spotting.

I have a flight at 5pm for a business meeting in NY tomorrow and i started spotting last night.  Have an appt at 1130 with possible u/s to make sure all is ok.   After 2 m/c's i'm having a hard time staying calm.  Meeting is important but not worth me going and being useless if i'm a wreck.

Re: flight today and spotting.

  • Good luck.  Hopefully it's just normal first tri stuff and everything is fine.

  • Good luck. Lots of thoughts and prayers being sent your way. Hopefully it's nothing and just a little scare.
  • Like the other ladies here, hopefully it's just the first trimester scaries. Try to relax, I know it's hard I'm in the same boat.
  • I'm with pps: keeping you in my thoughts, but hopefully this is just a first-trimester spotting thing and not anything to worry about.

Try to take lots of deep breaths. You have very little control over this babe right now, but I found it helpful to just take some calming breaths send good thoughts to the embie in my belly when I was scared during the first trimester...

  • I am so glad everything is ok.  I was against getting a doppler at first, but it really helps with the runaway imagination.  Just take your time in using it.  I was lucky and able to get a heartbeat on it at 10 weeks, but I have heard it can take a while to find it and when you are really early, the baby may be too far down to hear.

  • Glad to hear all is well.  I spotted some in the 1st and 2nd trimester with no issues to baby and it is very scary!  Thoughts and prayers for you and baby.
  • I had spotting starting at 12 weeks with this pregnancy and they found a small subchroinic hematoma that caused spotting throughout the second trimester. It healed and reabsorbed when I went in at my 20 week ultrasound appointment but it was scary until it did heal.  I also had marginal placenta previa which caused more spotting and my placenta finally moved up at 28 weeks.  I miscarried our first pregnancy so I know how scary spotting can be.  I kept my feet up and rested as much as I could.  I would try to rest as much as possible and good news on the awesome heartbeat!  It is such a reassuring sound every time we hear it!
