What fun activities are u doing with your baby? I feel like I can't do much with my 7week old. He still can't focus on things and fusses a lot in my arms so reading to him is a struggle. What could I be doing with him?

My little guy is 4 1/2 weeks and like patty cake more than anything, so I basically play patty cake over and over again for 5-10 minutes at a time ( what I can handle without going insane and tongue tied) for a few times a day... he loves it and doesn't care if I am repeating it over and over. lol.

We go on lots of walks.  She loves all the sounds.  I wear her and go to places like the local farmer's market or shopping or just outside while DS plays.  She is also just starting to like her activity mat.

DS loves the activity mat.  He also loves ceiling fans and windows.  

I like to do regular activities with him like folding laundry or doing dishes, and just talk to him the whole time about what I'm doing or sing silly songs I make up.  

I read to him, but he doesn't seem too interested yet.

Talk and sing to him. This is mostly what I've been doing, getting really animated when I talk or sing. I'll move my LO's arms and legs gently while singing. It's gotten more fun lately because she's started responding with smiles. Take him for walks so he can look at things. Even though he can't focus, do you notice him tracking things with his eyes or looking around like he's curious? My LO loves to be carried around the house, and I take her on a "tour", describing things to her as we walk around.

A lot of talking! He started playing with his hanging toys last week and loves batting thme around.  Every evening we go out- he is in his vibrating chair so he can hear DS#1 and I playing in the yard.  Lots of face time...he has begin mimicking certain facial expressions like kissy face and sticking out his tounge!  I talk him thorugh everything- the people at the grocery store must think I am nutz!!

Find bright colored things and wiggle them in front of her. She also has these Sing a Majig toys that she loves and will coo at as long as your hand will squeeze them and make them sing.

Ahhh...the simple joys.
